Go Big Make a Movie - Hot Shots Film Fest

The Hot Shots High School Film and Ad Festival is accepting submissions of Action Sport Shorts (Biking, Skiing, Snowboarding, Skating, Wakeboarding). films from High School Filmmakers until May 26th.

Hot Shots culminates June 28th and 29th with Gala finals in Edmonton and Calgary with complete with bright lights, golden trophies, red carpets, movies, models, music and more. All finalist Films will be screened for public viewing and judging.

Cleveland Community Bike Shop Owner Robbed, Left for Dead

On March 22, 2006, Ken Schneider, the owner of Schneider's Bike Shop in Cleveland, Ohio, was robbed, beaten and left for dead in his store. The assailant had robbed Ken two times previously and when he came back a third time, Ken sprayed him with mace and tried to get away, but instead was attacked and assaulted with a hammer, causing massive head injuries. When Ken didn't return home from the shop at the end of the work day, his wife became worried and went to the shop to find him unconscious on the floor.

Whistler SGC Introduces Air Dome

Summer Gravity Camps (SGC) at Whistler Blackcomb will introduce a new 10,000 square foot, covered mountain bike facility this summer. The Air Dome features a foam pit, resi ramp and trampoline. Located at Base II on Blackcomb Mountain, and scheduled to open this summer, the Air Dome is the first mountain bike training facility of its kind in Canada.

Mountain Cycle Loves The Ladies

Ladies are good. Ladies that ride are great. Ladies that can rip it up are, well, awesome. That's one of the reasons why Mountain Cycle jumped at the chance to be part of the first ever women's freeride invitational coming up this weekend. The Slope Sistair competition from September 3rd – 4th at Hemlock Valley Resort in beautiful BC, will provide the top women freeriders in North America the chance to showcase their skills in front of a panel of celebrity judges, sports media and a pumping audience.

Adventure Tourism in B.C. is bustling and it's more then evident in the small Kootenay town of Nelson. Being nestled in the middle of all the surrounding mountains makes this town a haven for skiers in the winter and dirt bag cyclists in the summer. Having never ridden or for that matter been to Nelson, I knew it was time to make the trip. Hearing about Gravity Adventures.net made my decision to go that much easier.

There aren't that many, I was out enjoying riding the hill over the course of the weekend, and since I had to make the drive back to the Lower Mainland Sunday night I couldn't stick around for much of the downhill.
